If you follow me on Instagram, then you probably know that I am currently on holiday in the South of France. My husband and I love this part of France so much so that we have been coming here every year since 2011. However one of the towns on the Côte d’Azur that we have never visited before was Saint Tropez. So this year I wanted to tick that off my list, mainly because I wanted to visit the Chanel boutique there 😀
Every year (since 2009) Chanel sets up a pop-up boutique to showcase the summer resort collection from April to October in the beautiful La Mistralée mansion in Saint Tropez. Beautiful palm trees and other lush greenery surrounds the mansion. Once inside the boutique is narrow, but because of how the items are displayed it does not feel claustrophobic and flows nicely. The second room (photo below) has a hanging fixture that the ready-to-wear pieces are hung on, because of all the windows you are surrounded by the beauty of the garden outside. At the end of the room, there is a little staircase that leads you outside to the peaceful garden, the tranquil pool, and the adorable red brick pool house. The pool house has a small selection of ready-to-wear items, shoes, and accessories.
Some of you might know I recently made the decision to get a Chanel Jumbo flap before the 7 -10% Chanel price increase on the 1st of June. I wanted to get it on my holiday as I like having a “story” behind every bag 🙂 so I was hoping to score it in Saint Tropez or Cannes (where I got my medium flap last year). A day before leaving Zurich (Thursday) I called the Saint Tropez boutique and asked if they had a Jumbo in stock. I was elated to hear that they did indeed and they were able to reserve the bag for me until Monday. If you know you are going to be visiting the Saint Tropez boutique, I suggest calling a few days ahead and reserving the item you want to avoid disappointment.
So on Monday I excitedly went to the boutique around 11:40 and Eulalie the sales assistant that reserved the bag for me helped me during my visit. I tried on the Jumbo flap again after last trying it out in Zurich, and I was still pleased with how it looked on me and immediately said yes to purchasing it. I also enquired about the linen espadrilles in white and black, however; those were already sold out in my size. Since I was just so happy to have the jumbo I wasn’t too fussed about not finding the espadrilles. By 12:00 I paid for the bag and left it with Eulalie to be picked up later in the day. My husband wanted to do a two-hour long walk along the beach from Baie de Canebiers to Plage du salines and then lunch, so I did not want to lug around a large bag or have the bag just sat for a few hours in a hot car. Eulalie knew about this, so she invited my husband, doggy 😀 and myself back in the evening for drinks by the pool.
If you are planning a stop at the Saint Tropez boutique anytime soon the boutique had the following popular items available:
- The rectangle mini: in black lambskin leather with silver hardware, black caviar leather with light gold hardware and a rectangle mini in pink jersey material with light gold hardware.
- Medium flaps in lambskin with gold hardware.
- Coco handles in different colours and sizes.
- Jumbo flaps in black caviar with silver and gold hardware.
- The denim Deauville tote in medium.
- The slingbacks in beige and black and in a metallic beige and black combo.
After our walk we arrived back at the boutique around 16:30, the boutique was a bit busier at this time, but the pool area was quiet. Eulalie escorted us to the pool house, and she served us our drinks, she also brought out a bowl of water for Bella and told us we could stay as long as we wanted. The atmosphere at the pool was so relaxing and calm that both hubby and Bella fell asleep ;D We stayed on for about 25 minutes before leaving.
I was extremely happy with the very pleasant service at the boutique from both Eulalie and her manager. The other members of staff were very friendly and welcoming. I really recommend every Chanel fan to pay this unique boutique a visit if you ever find yourself in the South of France in summer. It truly is one of a kind and the most beautiful boutique that I have ever visited.
The Saint Tropez boutique will be open until October 3rd. The boutique operates Monday to Sunday from 10:00 – 13:30 and 15:30 to 20:00.
