It’s been ages since my last beauty post, so today I thought I would share with you my current skincare routine. Many long time readers would know that I struggled with adult acne that is finally going away, but has left me with nasty, dark hyperpigmentation marks which have slowly started to fade away since I started using the La Prairie foam cleanser (read the review here) along with my Chanel skincare routine that I will be discussing more about in this post.
Every morning after cleansing my skin I apply the Chanel Le Jour de Chanel serum it just glides on smoothly and feels really light on my skin. The Salicylic Acid gently exfoliates the skin therefore lightening my hyperpigmentation marks, it’s also supposed to tighten larger pores – I have seen a small reduction of the pore size on my cheeks so I think it definitely works but needs time. When I first purchased this serum I was recommended to use it together with a moisturiser, however since my skin is quite sensitive I did not want to add another “layer” onto it. I apply my makeup as usual after a few minutes of applying the serum and I am ready to go!
Every evening I cleanse my skin as usual with the La Prairie foam cleanser and then apply the Chanel Le Nuit de Chanel serum, the texture feels more like a cream and a little really goes a long way with this product. The frankincense extract in the serum really makes my skin feel smooth and calms any redness on my face. My skin always feels very supple and fresh in the morning so I am quite pleased with the results so far.
Once a week I do a mini facial in the evening after cleansing and before applying Le Nuit de Chanel. I start the facial with applying the Chanel Gommage Microperlé Éclat maximum radiance exfoliating gel on my slightly wet face and in a circular motion I massage the gel onto my face and wash off with warm water. This scrub brightens my skin (and is quite effective on the hyperpigmentation marks) and feels very refreshing afterwards. The next step in my mini facial is the Masque Déstressant Pureté Purifying cream mask, I leave it on my face for 10 minutes (I usually catch up on Instagram during this time 😉 ) then gently wash it off with a face cloth. Again my skin feels super soft and polished. I finish with my Chanel Le Nuit de Chanel serum and I am ready for bed!
None of these Chanel skincare products claim to help with hyperpigmentation marks it’s just my own experience after diligently following this routine in the last 6 months, so I thought I would share it with you in case it might help someone else. Do you have any experience with any of these products? Or have favourite products that have helped with hyperpigmentation marks and blemishes?
