For a few years now I have been wanting to take the plunge by starting a minimalist wardrobe, however something (more like excuses) always got in the way. Now I finally feel ready to start my journey of living a more simple, refined and minimalistic life and thought I would share this with you, as you will start to notice some changes on my blog.
In general I already live a semi minimalistic life it is only my wardrobe that needs to make the transition. My plan of action is to procure signature, stylish classic pieces, you might have already noticed my move to  such pieces with my recent Chanel Medium Flap and Hermes Garden Party tote reveals. I plan on not having more than 10 handbags in my collection at one time, currently I have 7.
When it comes to clothing, again I will be purchasing classic pieces like the Burberry trench coat that I recently acquired, also a good quality winter coat (I have my eye on this one from Max Mara) and a winter jacket for snowy Swiss days (considering this one from Moncler) and most of all well fitted and well made clothing in general.
I hope you will join me on my journey to acquiring a more sustainable wardrobe with signature, classic pieces with my key focus being on fit, practicality and longevity. I will also be sharing weekly minimalist segments with you along the way – explaining why I purchased an item and how it fits on my minimalist plan of action, just in case you would like to join along as well.

Hell Steffy,
I’ve had the pleasure of perusing your site and have enjoyed reading many of your posts. After reading this one in particular, I’d like to know if you could do an update regarding the transition you made to a minimalistic wardrobe. How long did it take you? What do you feel are the pros and cons? What would you do differently if you had to transition all over again? What are some of the downsides or challenges you’ve found that come with switching to a minimalistic/high-end fashion wardrobe, if there were any? And any tips for those considering doing the same. Thank you for any advice that you could provide.

Wow you are so going forward! I know you are a great planner and organizer. I should also have to clean up my closet and try to organize them better. Currently I don’t have 10 handbags but still…organization is everything. Great post Steph! So inspiring!

Love this post! I also believe in owning quality pieces of quantity. Items are just so much better value if you really use them and they don’t fill the wardrobe and shelves. I currently also have 7 bags in my collection and I think that this is sufficient. I might replace some with more classic pieces over time but I’m almost there already.

Thank you Anouk! I also plan to keep the handbag collection low and will definitely replace a few once I make the full transition and acquire the final classic pieces to round up my collection.

Dear Steffy, 10 handbags sound like a good number, and having a more sustainable wardrobe is a good goal as well. I am thinking and thinking of that over and over again, and end up with tons of things. Most of the time I wear an outfit and also shoes just once, and it’s not OK. I am going to change it one day! Hope you have a great week!
