Hermès Oran Sandals Review
As the temperature rises in Europe, I thought now would be the best time to review the Hermès Oran sandals. I got my first pair of Oran sandals in gold (neutral brown) in spring 2016 and my second pair in blanc last summer. I love the classic, minimalistic design of these sandals and that it comes in various colours and leather variations. These sandals are so easy to pair with shorts, skirts, dresses and even jeans!

Sizing and comfort
For both pairs of Oran sandals, I took my usual size 38 I know some have to size up to get the right fit. Everyone’s feet are different therefore, it’s best to visit a boutique to ensure you find the best fit for you. Depending on the leather the sandals will stretch a bit the more you use it, this has been my experience with the box calfskin leather.
In terms of comfort, I find the Orans comfortable for a stroll, a trip to the beach and for running errands. I don’t use them for long walks (there’s not much support for the feet) or on rough terrain; there are proper walking shoes for that. Some get blisters during the “break-in” period, I didn’t because I broke them in at home. I used them for short periods as “house shoes” before wearing them out.
One thing to note is that the leather soles are extremely slippery. Consequently, I ungracefully landed on my behind while on holiday! To avoid this consider putting a rubber anti-slip sole – an essential if you frequently walk on cobblestone.

Wear and tear
My gold pair of Oran sandals are three years old, besides minor creasing on the “H” part of the flats which happens naturally from wearing the sandals they are still in excellent condition.
I do use wet wipes to clean away any dirt or sweat and let it air dry.
Price
The Hermès Oran sandals in box calfskin currently retail at 590CHF. In the Eurozone, they start at €480, £490 in the UK, AUD 970 in Australia and $650 in the US. The price does increase if you get them in exotic leathers or with embellishments.
Are they worth the price? Everyone has a different budget and lifestyle, use this cost per wear calculator to assess the value of these sandals for your budget and lifestyle.

Great review Steffy! I have been thinking of getting these sandals as I love them but my feet don’t look nice at all and I prefer to wear close toe shoes in summer too. The picture showing you in the white dress and light blue Mini Chanel is beautiful.
