In today’s post, I wanted to share two current spring outerwear pieces that I recently purchased from the S Max Mara and Weekend Max Mara line.
1. The wrap coat

Long time readers of my blog know that I have a penchant for wrap coats. What I like most about wrap coats is the relaxed yet put-together look of a good one such as my Burgos coat from a few seasons ago. So you can imagine how thrilled I was to spot this beautiful blush pink coat while browsing the Max Mara website. It will certainly pair well with the existing grey, cream and white items in my wardrobe.

The coat’s composition consists of 100% virgin wool and is unlined. It is cut for a relaxed fit, has cropped kimono sleeves, shawl lapels and side slit pockets. Also, a matching belt comes with it to cinch in the waist. Apropos, I am 164cm tall and wearing a size XS. Other colours are available in grey, camel, black and navy.
Even though it is a lightweight coat (ideal for spring), it will also do well in mild autumn weather conditions.
2. The short jacket

For the longest time, I have been searching for a lightweight short jacket such as this one from Weekend Max Mara. This jacket is so minimal and chic! Such a classic wardrobe staple that I can see myself wearing for many years to come.

A few details about the jacket: press stud closure, trimmed faux flap pockets on the front and slant pockets on the side. In reference to sizing, I am wearing a UK 4 (jacket is true to size) and cut for a relaxed silhouette. The composition consists of 90% wool and 10% nylon – the jacket is unlined. By the way, it also comes in powder blue and shocking pink.
Although I won’t get full use out of both spring outerwear pieces this spring due to the current circumstances, nevertheless, I am hopeful that will change in autumn later this year or spring 2021.
