Flats for spring and summer

Flats for spring

Post request from @lilashmcmanus.

This little post is all about flats for spring and summer. To begin with, I’ll share flat shoes that I own in the following categories: ballerinas, loafers and sandals as well as how I like to wear them. I’ll also share high street alternatives for everything that I posted if you’re on a budget or don’t want to spend obscene amounts of money on footwear I hope you will find that part helpful ๐Ÿ˜‰

Ballerinas

I have two pairs of ballerinas both from Chanel: a seasonal pink shade and the classic beige and black pair. Both go very well with a neutral wardrobe as well as darker shades of blue or black. I prefer pairing my ballerinas with trousers, but they also look good with flowy midi skirts and dresses.

Loafers

I love my Gucci Jordaan loafers they look so classic and chic with black skinny jeans and a trench coat. If you are looking for a smart pair of loafers that are also comfortable I can highly recommend these!

Sandals

I don’t own many pairs of sandals, only four to be exact, and of those four, two are the Oran Hermes sandals (review post here). These sandals are so chic and stylish!

Hello Stephanie! I was wondering if you could do a post on your shoe wardrobe? I read in another of your posts about your minimalist goal of 15 pairs. Does that still hold true? I personally own way too many pairs (including the same classic Chanel ballerinas), but still tend to wear only a few favourites (said Chanels and my absolute favourites, Roger Vivier Belle Vivier pumps), especially in spring and summer. Winter here in the North is another story altogether! Many thanks and greetings from Finland! Andreea

Hi Andreea, there have been changes in my personal and work-life since 2016 (when I wrote that blog post) which makes having “only” 15 pairs of shoes a little unrealistic for me. I now have around 25 pairs of shoes and would probably stick to not more than 30. Owning so many pairs of shoes sounds ridiculous to me, and I am so embarrassed to say that I “need” so many shoes! Most are for outdoor activities (hiking boots, snow boots, rain boots, sneakers for leisurely walks with my dog), shoes for work and free-time/going out/holidays etc. I should add that I do get rid of shoes that I no longer use (makes me feel a little less guilty ๐Ÿ˜…).

Love your style and very closed to mine too. I adore those 3 pcs wear you are having, but I hardly can have it over here (especially the Max Mara coat) , as I am staying at a whole year summer county, Malaysia. But it does inspired me for my visitation to European countries. Been following on all of your social media platforms. Been to Swiss last year, oh I fall in love. A very beautiful and peaceful place. Will definitely go back again ! and I have subscribe to your blog too! Keep it up. Love from Malaysia.
